Medical Update on Buddy 6/28/2020 per Cindra Anderson:

Had surgery to have all of his teeth removed but still having some pain. Still has tenderness since surgery. Still seeing the vet to look at different options for Buddy's care.  



Buddy is Mr. Lovable!

He is approximately 8 years old and was found as a young cat abandoned by renters in a mobile home. He loves people and is like a good uncle to other cats. He has helped many young kittens learn to play fair and he tolerated their nonstop antics! He is good with other cats and might like a nice smaller dog with proper slow introduction. He is good with kids. He likes to be held, petted, or scratched behind the ears.

He is neutered, up to date on shots, negative for leukemia and feline aids.  He is microchipped too!

He likes to drink from the bathroom or kitchen sink, and he likes to swirl the water in his water bowl, then lick it off his paw! He thinks the dining room or breakfast table is HIS because he was fostered and loved by a man who thought cats should go where they want (!!) so training him to keep him off tables will be needed if you insist. He does like being up high to eat and supervise you putting wet food in the dish so maybe a special spot?

A spritz from a water bottle will discourage and teach him things--but we don’t want to squash his spirit. He likes to be where you are--observing and sometimes in it!  He can be guided to sit aside instead of “in it”!  He likes to sleep with you and occasionally sniff your hair and play with it!

All his teeth were surgically removed in 2019 because his gums showed an allergic response to his own plaque or tartar on his teeth—also known as a condition called stomatitis. Since dental surgery, he has a great appetite and seems to feel much better. 

He likes cardboard scratchers (carpeted ones) or cat trees. He likes to lie in a pile of linens or wherever looks cozy! He would enjoy a screened-in porch or a perch by a window. He has a cute meow that he mostly uses when he greets you and when he’s ready to eat. “Hi! Let’s eat!!”
