Making a donation by "Planned Giving" is a wonderful way to help Everett Animal Welfare Group continue to rescue, protect, and improve the lives of homeless cats, kittens, and dogs throughout Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Suwannee Counties in Florida and the surrounding areas.

Also known as Legacy Gifts, contributions made through Planning Giving often allows the donor with financial incentives and tax benefits. You should consult your estate planning expert or attorney for help with your specific situation, but there are two common types of planned giving.

Life Insurance Policies

  • You can name Everett Animal Welfare Group, Inc. as the primary or secondary beneficiary on percentage of a policy amount. While this does not offer the income tax advantages of gifting a policy, it currently reduces the donor's taxable estate by the amount of the death benefit.
  • You can transfer the ownership of a paid-up insurance policy to Everett Animal Welfare Group, Inc. which may provide an immediate income tax deduction in the amount of the policy's cash surrender value or basis/cost, whichever is less.
  • You can purchase a new policy and name Everett Animal Welfare Group, Inc. as the primary beneficiary and irrevocable owner. Premium payments may be tax deductible for the donor.

Bequests

Bequests are the most common and easiest planned gift and can be for specific dollar amounts or a percentage of your estate. Consult your estate planning expert or attorney for help with your specific situation, but the gift is currently exempt from Federal estate tax.

  • A "Specific" bequest directs a specific or stated dollar amount or property to pass to Everett Animal Welfare Group, Inc..
  • A "Percentage" bequest designates a percentage of the total value of the estate as a gift to Everett Animal Welfare Group, Inc.
  • A "Residual" bequest directs that Everett Animal Welfare Group, Inc. receive the remainder of the estate (or percentage of the remainder) after all expenses and other bequests have been made.
