Cindra Anderson texted to me that Ilana was adopted today 1/6/2021. From PetSmart. Marina Buie was Ilana's foster mom, along with sibling Abby.
We'd like to introduce you to Ilana! (Pronounced Eee-La'-na)
She was found underneath a car protecting her frightened kitten sister (Abby) and both were hungry and full of fleas when they were rescued! Thankfully, they are now both safe inside and being cared for in a loving foster home until they can find their forever family. Ilana is a friendly playful kitten who loves to explore. She's curious and is usually a little braver than her sister Abby--usually being the first one to try something new.
Ilana is fun to watch while she’s playing--chasing anything that moves--especially her little mouse toys. Ilana will meow here and there, especially when she's alone. It's difficult to know for sure how her life started out, but she really enjoys being around her sister (either curled up on a blanket together or playing with a toy). She's very healthy and just a happy, happy girl. When she first came into her foster home, she was a little bit shy, but she has warmed up pretty quickly. It's so cute to watch her playing with a toy and the minute you pick her up she starts purring away! She's really getting the hang of this lovin' thing real quick!
Her foster mama says one of her favorite things about Ilana is, "She won't stop purring when I pick her up." How adorable!
Ilana has the little tabby "M" on her forehead, with soft brown and gray stripes on her face, neck, chest, and legs; and she has a "salt and pepper" gray "ticked tabby" fur pattern on her body. She has pretty green-brown eyes and the most ADORABLE spotted belly! Sometimes referred to as, "vest buttons." See the photo of her tummy spots. SO Cute!
While Ilana would most likely do well as an only kitty or with the right introduction to another sibling pet in a new home, if you are considering adopting two kittens at the same time--her foster mama asked, "PLEASE consider adopting her sister Abby as well. They have had a tough life already and she likes to be around her. She is so very sweet and happy."
Plus, they would be able to keep each other company if you had to be out part of the day. And just think how they could entertain you when you walked through the door when you came home! Kitty owners will tell you that kitties adopted together teach each other how to play nice and not bite too hard when they are playing. All sorts of good benefits!
